TTerraces at DeKalb is Hiring Maintenance Technicians!
The Maintenance Technician's primary duty is to perform repairs and conduct preventative maintenance throughout the apartment community.
Location: DeKalb, IL Schedule: Full Time; Monday-Friday 8a-5p; rotational on-call shifts Job Type: Full-time Compensation: $20-$25/hour; commensurate with experience Benefits: PTO, Holiday Pay, Health Insurance after 60 days, Housing discount after 90 days
About you:
1+ Years of Property Management Maintenance Experience
General knowledge of plumbing, Electrical, carpentry, appliance repair
HVAC experience and EPA Certified preferred
Positive attitude with strong verbal communication skills: will work with a variety of staff, residents, and vendors
Reliable Transportation
Available for duty on a rotational basis for after-hours emergency
Education & Experience
Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant certifications
Core Responsibilities: Included but not limited to:
Responds to all assigned maintenance work orders during the regular day, as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
Updating status of work in prescribed software platforms
Assists in preparing vacant apartments in the Turn process for new residents
Keeps shop and storage areas neat and well-organized, reporting to supervisors when inventory needs to be replenished
Provides high-quality customer service when interacting with residents
Completes grounds work as directed by supervisor, which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, and maintaining landscaping beds and other common areas to ensure curb appeal
Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of systems and physical assets as directed
Assists in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
Monitors and maintains all building systems as needed
complies with all company, local, City, State, and Federal laws and safety standards
Provides feedback with ideas or suggestions for improvements at the property
Ensures compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent
Other duties as assigned
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs and walk the property
Performing tasks that may require bending, stooping, or reaching, such as checking under desks or inspecting areas that are difficult to access
Housing Benefit Employees who have completed ninety (90) days of continuous service may be considered for company housing, if available, at a reduced rental rate determined by Terraces at DeKalb. Specific terms and conditions will be set forth in a separate housing agreement. #li-dni
